A county-wide Nuisance Ordinance was adopted at the special-called April 21, meeting of the Board of Commissioners. The county’s Code Enforcement Officer is Sgt. David Ellis 400-8042 and the Animal Control Officer is Chris Sapp, 220-5808, whose positions have been transferred to Decatur County Sheriff’s Office under the supervision of Lt. Rick Ashley. To report possible violations of either the county’s Nuisance Ordinance or the Animal Control Ordinance , call the Sheriff”s Office at 229-248-3044, or for emergencies, call 911.
